Specialist venues

Many locations claim 'dedicated meeting facilities', but a true specialist meeting venue is not one where just a section, floor or extension is allocated to meetings.  Members of organisations such as IACC (International Association of Conference Centres) are examples of what we consider to be true dedicated conference centres,  They provide a distraction-free environment and their facilities are either purpose-built or converted to single-use. 

Some examples of what identifies a dedicated meetings venue would be...

Meeting room or function suite?

Is the room a dedicated meeting room, with 8-hour furniture, projection screens and equipment, LCD televisions and high-quality, heavy-duty tables?  Does it have natural daylight, suitable light fittings, power points, WiFi access and unobstructed views?

Complete Meetings Packages

Specialist venues typically offer more comprehensive meeting packages that include items you'll need for your meeting at no extra costs.  They usually own stocks of this equipment, and are therefore more familiar with its operation, as well as better able to provide it for you.  Things like syndicate room hire are often included as well, which can represent real savings when compared with properties that charge room hire. 

Types of venue:

Specialist meeting venues come in different shapes and sizes, and can include residential country-houses or non-residential city centre locations.  Academic venues mostly fall under the heading of specialist venues, although there are differing standards provided by the various suppliers.

Sundial Group owns and operates three residential conference venues of its own (Northamptonshire, Surrey, Warwickshire) but the recommendations put forward by SOS will always be driven first and foremost by your requirements.  We would not suggest our own venues if there was any question as to their suitability for your event, and we would never present them without offering any alternative as part of our aim to always provide you with three options.
